COUNTY CLERK RACE HEATS UP AS INCUMBENT STRUGGLES TO UNDERSTAND HIS JOB AND PURPOSE
The County Clerk is not the most visible or well known elected Clark County official yet the County Clerk has a critical role in protecting the citizen's funds and providing the best possible customer service to county residents at the courthouse. Four years ago, Scott Weber was elected on a platform of eliminating the office. After collecting close to half a million dollars in salary in benefits since taking office, he's changed his mind and now wants the job for four more years.
Yet even after four years in office, he still struggles with understanding his role and in a recent Columbian newspaper interview didn't know his own budget or how many employees he had.
We have a choice in November. Deanna Pauli-Hammond is running on a business sensible, customer service focused platform. She actually knows the budget for the office she'd like to supervise. She actually knows how many employees would be working for her and what they do. She actually listens to the community to make sure their needs are met when doing business with the court.
Help us send a message loud and clear to the County Clerk's office, we won't tolerate people just parking there and collecting a salary for four years. We won't support incompetence in our elected officials anymore. Help Scott Weber realize his dream of eliminating himself from the County Clerk's Office, Vote for Deanna Pauli-Hammond.
