CLARK COUNTY CONVENTION CONVENES ON APRIL 12
Clark County Democrats will forge a progressive future April 12 at the party’s combined gathering for the county convention and legislative district caucuses. Any Democrat in the county who is a registered voter may take part in the event at Fort Vancouver High School auditorium, 5700 E. 18th St., Vancouver. Registration, which will be done by legislative district, begins at 8 a.m. with the convention to begin at 9 a.m.
Voters in each legislative district will elect delegates to the Washington State Democratic Party convention June 21st in Spokane. Proposed resolutions will be offered for inclusion in the party’s platform. Resolutions will be available for review in the convention program. Speakers for or against proposed resolutions will be able to speak out before votes are taken.
In addition to a keynote address by former U.S. Rep. Brian Baird, candidates for local and legislative office will address the gathering and many will have campaign information as the August primary and November general elections approach. There will also be information about the biennial election of precinct committee officers.
There is no cost to participate, but those who are able are encouraged to donate $10 to help cover the costs of the event.
