The City of Vancouver is against it. Portland is against it. Firefighters are against it. Health professionals are against it. Longshore union workers are against it. Tens of thousands have spoken out against it. And yet Big Oil is still trying to build the largest crude oil terminal in the country right on the Columbia River, at the Port of Vancouver.
RSVP to rally @ 5:00 pm HERE
The proposed Tesoro-Savage crude oil terminal would send four mile-long trains of explosive crude oil rolling through our communities in Washington and neighboring states daily. When that oil is offloaded at this facility, it would then be shipped out on the Columbia River on massive tankers. By rail or by sea, with this much oil moving through the region, an oil spill disaster is inevitable.
Now is your time to speak out against this dirty and dangerous proposal! The WA Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council is holding a public meeting near Vancouver on January 5 to hear directly from Washingtonians, Oregonians, and anyone else concerned about these plans to hear what youthink of this dangerous proposal. We need your help to stop this oil export terminal, and protect the Northwest's communities, rivers, salmon, and coastline. It's critical that we pack this hearing with concerned citizens like you and send agency officials a clear message: this oil is all risk and no reward for the Northwest.
Can you join us to show huge public opposition to this dangerous project? RSVP today to let us know you'll stand with other concerned citizens!
Note: We'll be holding a rally outside of the hearing during a break at 5 p.m. Please make it to the rally if you can, and please wear red to show that you're there to stand up to Big Oil.
