Your Clark County Democrats have been working closely with the Clark County Council to advocate for more robust and meaningful action on Affordable Housing. While our detailed plan is shown here – Action Plan for Affordable Housing – the most important action you can take is to let our County Councilors know that you want Affordable Housing to be a top priority. Dear Clark County Councilors,

I am asking you to make affordable housing a top priority and treat it like an emergency. We need bold, ambitious, and decisive action. Homelessness is a crisis, and so is housing affordability in general for our young people, working families, seniors, and many thousands of people across our county. Consider the Action Plan for Affordable Housing, proposals from housing advocates, and building upon actions you’ve already begun, like increased funding for affordable housing and a pause on large corporations buying mobile home parks and increasing rents there.

I appreciate what you have already done, and we must do much, much more, because this emergency affects thousands of us and large-scale solutions are needed right away.

Please think at very large scales and make Clark County an example of a healthy community where the people who live here can afford safe and appropriate housing.
